Every groom starts with the basics, and we will show you how to clean / pluck your dog's ears, properly brush teeth, trim the hair between the toes, grind nails, and clean up their sanitary area.
We will discuss your dog's coat type (i.e., short, drop/long, curly, rustic, combination) and discuss the differences between hair and fur, and how to care for it.
Not all shampoos are alike and all coats must be conditioned. We will show you the best way to bathe your dog, plus suggest products for their coat and skin.
How to blow out dead undercoat, not to damage the primary coat, when to brush, how often and with what. Primary focus is on deshedding, and caring for doodle coats.
With over 200 AKC breeds, we cannot show you all, just how to style YOUR dog whether a cute teddy bear or fluffy fuzzball. Clippers, shears, blades, rakes, combs, and brushes are all part of styling, and applicable techniques will be discussed.
Everything we use to groom our clients' dogs, we will be using during your class. Working with our wholesale suppliers, we can send you home with a starter kit with most everything you will need to get started at home.
